International First-Year Admissions

Consideration for Admission

To be considered for admission, you must complete secondary school, earn superior marks in academic subjects and receive a certificate of completion that grants you admission to university-level studies in your country. All first-year applicants are considered using the same eligibility requirements and are included in the same selection process, regardless of being an international or domestic applicant. Our online application is the same for domestic and international students.

Academic requirements

International students must meet the same admission requirements and will be included in the same selection process as U.S. citizens and permanent residents as described on the听First-Year Students听page in the Recommended Curriculum and Application Requirements sections.听Meeting these requirements does not guarantee admission to Mines. Applicants who are admitted typically will exceed Mines admission requirements. If you have attended both non-U.S. and U.S. schools, both your non-U.S. and U.S. courses and grades will be considered.

Additionally, international students must meet the criteria outlined in the next section titled “Admission Information for Specific Countries and Educational Systems”.

Mines does not require SAT/ACT results for international students unless you are planning to play a NCAA sport.

Transcript Requirements

1. To complete your application, ask your high school to send us your official high school transcript/marksheets electronically or by email to admissions@mines.edu or you may upload an unofficial high school transcript via the Supplemental Materials section of your 24 hours after submitting your online application.听

2. All students, U.S. citizens or international, who studied/are studying outside of the U.S. during high school are required to submit a credential evaluation in addition to their high school transcript. Please see the credential evaluations section below for a list of instructions and exceptions to this policy.

3. If you are admitted and decide to enroll at 天美传媒直播app, you must request that your high school send an official, final high school transcriptin its original language as well as an English version, after you have graduated.听

Credential Evaluations

All students who have attended high school outside of the U.S. are also required to submit a credential evaluation to complete their application. A credential evaluation is a comparison of your academic record to standards in the U.S., a verification of validity and a translation of your grades to the U.S.-style system.听Please view the following information for a list of exceptions and a detailed explanation of what is needed and how to obtain an evaluation.

Exceptions:

  • You attended a high school that follows the U.S.-style curriculum, an AP curriculum or an IB curriculum

  • You attended a school accredited by the Middle States Association
  • You are fully sponsored by an official government embassy, government agency, or an organization with an active agreement with Colorado School or Mines, such as Saudi Aramco or KGSP

    • but you may use any member that performs high school course-by-course credential evaluations. Remember to designate Mines as a copy recipient of your evaluation.
