A wind-energy farm that faced substantial opposition this past summer has taken another step forward.
Alliant Energy moves forward with wind farm
A proposed Columbia Wind Farm project in southern Wisconsin would have larger wind turbines than the 90-turbine Glacier Hills Wind Park project operated by WE Energies in northern Columbia County, Wisconsin, pictured. Wind turbines for the proposed Columbia Wind Farm would be placed on rural lands in southeastern Columbia County, Wisconsin, in areas along and near Wisconsin highways 16, 60 and 146. The project was submitted Jan. 12 to Wisconsin's Public Service Commission. White dots indicate planned turbine locations, while gray dots are alternate sites.
